Simple Tip: Save Some Water
I am sure you don’t need a primer on why saving water is important. And there are a ton of tips out there on ways to conserve water. However, I thought I’d share a few small things I do at home to save even a tiny bit of water (beyond the usuals: do full loads of laundry and dishes, turn the taps off, fix leaks, capture rainwater). Hopefully, this will inspire you to do even one more thing in your own homes to use less water. Do all your personal care in the shower. Depending on the time of year, I shower either in the morning or right before bed.…

The Joy of Letting Things Go
Last week’s big news was about Meghan and Harry “stepping back” as senior royals (I was not surprised and think it’s a big hell yeah/mic drop/eff yall moment). Whatever your thoughts on this are, it’s clear that the decision to let go of something this huge was done with their mental health and future happiness in mind. This got me thinking about the great joy that can come from letting something go (whether it be a situation or physical objects). I think the words “letting go” can have a sad/negative connotation but I find so much freedom and happiness in it. my 2020 mood is ?stop doing stuff that?s not…

New Year Winter Refresh
We could leave the Christmas lights up ’til JanuaryThis is our place, we make the rules– Taylor Swift, Lover Happy New Year! Instead of resolutions this year, I wanted to share out some things I like to do at the beginning of the year so that my mind, body, soul, home, etc. feel refreshed and ready to go for the new year. Home Take down the Christmas tree (and put the tree out to compost) and decor. *sigh* It’s sad but it must be done. And don’t just throw everything in a box. Take your time to organize everything as you put it back so everything is ready for next…

How to Read More (& 2019 Book Favorites!)
?A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies.” – George R.R. Martin I frequently get asked how I manage to read so much on a yearly basis. Yesterday, I officially hit my Goodreads reading challenge of 50 books for 2019! Yay! By the end of the year, I anticipate having read another 10 books or so. The simple answer to how I do it is… pure love of reading. I love entering new worlds and getting lost in them. It truly is a hobby for me. But there are a few little things that make it a bit easier for me to read as much as I do. So…

My Travel Essentials
My husband and I like to travel. A lot. So over the years, I’ve gotten my packing down to a science, especially since I seldom check in my luggage (except on the way back from a trip IF I bought some > 3 oz. liquids). Here are my essentials to make the travel experience a tiny bit more pleasant. A hard shell suitcase (easier to clean). Preferably in a carry on size. I love the ones from Away — mine has lasted for years through multiple countries and being dragged along for miles on all sorts of bumpy streets. A lightweight bag. Preferably one that can fold up (if you…

Simple Tip: How To Use Your iPhone Less
Note: this tip is for iPhone users (since it’s what I use). I’m sure there are ways to do something similar with other phones! Ever since smartphones became a thing, we’ve all been guilty of looking at our phones a little too often. I was mildly horrified when Apple released the Screen Time feature and I could see exactly how many hours a day I spent on my phone. And, listen, I love smartphones… they’ve made my life better in so many ways (hello Google Maps). However, they’ve also led to some mindless (and time-consuming) scrolling on Instagram. So let’s cut down on some of that and spend more time…

Things To Do Instead of Online Shopping
Mindless online shopping can definitely be the enemy of anyone trying to live a more mindful, minimal lifestyle. It’s just SO EASY to purchase anything your heart desires. And let’s not even get into the dopamine surge that comes from shopping. I’ve definitely been guilty of this as well. I’ve found that the best way to curb this unnecessary spending is finding other things to do at home that doesn’t cost any money but leaves me feeling happy, fulfilled, or productive. Here are the 25 things I do instead of online shopping. What about you? Take a bath (and use up all my bath bombs!) Paint nails Do workouts or…
