A Minimal Cleaning Product List
While I adore #cleantok — it can really influence you to buy a billion products you don’t need. But I also did find some of my favorite cleaning products (I see you, Sprayway) and hacks (dish brush in the shower) on there, so… I’ll take the good with the bad. Truly though, you don’t need a lot to keep your home clean. Here are my go to products that I always have on hand. Liquid dish soap (Dawn is effective but use whatever you like) used with Oxo Soap Dispensing Brush (this one has worked well for me and I like the refill heads). Great for cleaning dishes (without nasty…

Mindful Christmas Decorating
I, like many others, have an addiction to watching those “holiday haul” videos on TikTok… you know, the ones where someone goes to Target and buys a bunch of beautiful Christmas decor. And as much as I would love to get the sweet sugarplum rush that comes from new wreaths and mini Christmas trees… I refrain. As you know, I love Christmas. And the decorating that goes along with it. My usual minimal tendencies become a bit more… maximal. But, as I’ve gotten older, my tastes have changed and I have less patience for cleaning glitter and flocking. I find myself drawn to more elevated styles and colors that will…

Eco-Friendly Work From Home Tidbits
Disclaimer: It’s a privilege to be able to work from home at this time. If you have the means, please donate to your local food pantry and support small businesses. If, unlike me, it’s your first time working from home — you might be slowly coming to the realization that this could be the “new normal” and that you might be working from home for quite some time. This also means that it might be time to move on from working at the coffee table (at least for part of the day). If you’re looking to create a work from home space in a mindful way — here are some…

My Work From Home Setup
If you’re looking for work from home tips… there are a billion articles out there right now. As someone who has been on the WFH train for the past 7 years… all I can say is… “do you” aka… do whatever makes you feel productive. Whether that involves wearing pants… wearing no pants… working at a desk… on the couch… on the floor. I don’t think there are any set rules about it. I work at a desk in the morning (more on that below) and then usually move over to the couch for the afternoon. I am in comfy sweatpants or leggings 100% of this time — just not…

New Year Winter Refresh
We could leave the Christmas lights up ’til JanuaryThis is our place, we make the rules– Taylor Swift, Lover Happy New Year! Instead of resolutions this year, I wanted to share out some things I like to do at the beginning of the year so that my mind, body, soul, home, etc. feel refreshed and ready to go for the new year. Home Take down the Christmas tree (and put the tree out to compost) and decor. *sigh* It’s sad but it must be done. And don’t just throw everything in a box. Take your time to organize everything as you put it back so everything is ready for next…

Christmas Home Tour 2019: Merry + Bright
Better late than never! But I thought I’d share a few pics from our home this year and how I went about decorating. I usually start by collecting images on Pinterest for inspiration… a theme usually pops up pretty quickly. For the past few years, I’ve really been into a “merry and bright” theme… neutral but with lots of pops of pinks, reds, and greens. Cheerful and simple. And here’s the final look! The Christmas mugs, plates, and ornaments have been collected over the course of a few years. And every year, we get a fresh Frasier fir (from Home Depot) and I save the cut branches for decor around…

Kitchen Remodel
And now a break from your regularly scheduled programming… I wanted to share some pictures from our recent mini kitchen remodel! I’ve been jonesing to lighten up our kitchen since we moved in 3 years ago… and we finally bit the bullet and got it done! I loved our kitchen’s layout, storage, and counter space… but it just didn’t feel like our style (i.e. just a bit too traditional looking). If we had an unlimited budget, I’m sure we would’ve updated the countertops to a white quartz… but it wasn’t worth it to us when we could upgrade the cabinet color, backsplash, and cabinet hardware and have a big impact.…
